The minute I saw these gorgeous Golden Foliage plates from the At Home Store, I was ready to set the table and invite guests over! What I love about this design, is it will translate from the early fall months, through Halloween, Thanksgiving and into the colder months ahead.  Below are some of my entertaining tips so you can enjoy time with family and friends without the stress.  It’s a busy time of year, so remember to take time to relax with the people you love and don’t wait until the holidays to pull out special dinner and flatware! xo, Roni

  • Tablecloths: I love a rustic, linen tablecloth that is slightly wrinkled.  I toss it in the dryer, along with a wet hand towel, for about 15 minutes to soften it and get out big creases.  Starched tablecloths are beautiful, but I want people to feel comfortable at my table and not worry if they spill some red wine or food, which would be more apparent on a crisp, white table cloth. That brings me to my second tip:Fall-Table-Scape-4
  • Chargers: Chargers make any place setting look more dazzling, but they also help keep things tidy.  I chose gold chargers for these elegant plates, but I always keep silver, deep green and red handy to switch it up.  Don’t be afraid to mix metals, my gold chargers look even more beautiful alongside my silver serve ware.

  • An Uncommon Centerpiece: For this table I kept things simple, a decorative glass pumpkin  (they’re not just for Halloween!) fresh persimmons and glowing mercury votives are simple, affordable and leave enough space on the table for large platters.

  • Family Style: I love to serve my guests ‘family style’.  I have two platters for each dish, making them small and easy to pass from both ends.  There is something about digging into the same dish to scoop out warm, comforting, food.  It gets the conversation started and loosens up even the stiffest crowds.
